Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) - Dr.Vodder Method

Developed by Dr. Vodder in the 1930s, Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is an advanced therapy that stimulates and improves the body's lymphatic system, improves metabolism, helps the body to eliminate waste and toxins, and provides a boost to the immune system.

A range of specific movements are used to gently pump and stretch the skin, which stimulates the contraction of the lymphatic vessels. This leads to excess fluid known as lymph, being removed from the body's tissues. The fluid is passed through lymph nodes, where it is cleansed of bacteria, dead cells and other waste products and then filtered out by the kidneys. When the lymphatic system becomes blocked, fluid builds up and stagnates, causing the entire system to become toxic, making us feel sluggish and more susceptible to disease.

Benefits of MLD

Stimulating a sluggish immune system will encourage it to work more efficiently, clearing blockages, eliminating toxins, transporting nutrients to cells and increasing metabolism. Clean lymph is then returned to the blood circulatory system.

An improved immune system helps the fight illness, improves health and vitality, improves the appearance of skin and reduces puffiness caused by water retention, poor circulation or pregnancy.

MLD promotes healing of wounds, burns and leg ulcers. It alleviates fluid congestion such as puffy eyes, fluid retention due to PMS and in pregnancy, aids the detoxing process, venous oedema and Primary and Secondary Lymphoedema.

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) has gained full medical acceptance in Ireland as a component in the treatment and control of lymphoedema.
